Whenever you visit a new place for an extended time you begin to learn the local customs and terminology.

For example, I now understand what grits are, and you take a buggy into the store to get them. Descriptions like that are easy to get used to, and easy to understand.

However some things require a second look. While in a store today I see this package on a grocery store shelf that has in big letters, “Onion Flavoured Onion Rings.”

You mean they come in different flavours? I would love peach flavoured onion rings. Carrot flavoured onion rings perhaps?

Well at least you know what you are getting when you pick up that bag. Onion flavoured onion rings. No I have that wrong. They were Onion Flavored Onion Rings I believe.
