Depends On Your Point Of View
Not long ago I read “When you change the way you look at things the things you look at change,” as part of one of the Daily Motivator messages. I read this daily and sometime the whole message gives me inspiration while at other times a certain phrase will catch my attention and push me deep into thought.
That statement made me think about different points of view that people have.
For example, would you spend $5000. on a cruise or vacation? Or would you buy something worth that amount that you could enjoy for many years to come? After all, the vacation will soon be over and in some cases you could end up paying long after the trip. Which is more valuable? It depends on your point of view.
Lets go lower in price. How about going to that concert for a couple hundred bucks. Is that a good idea or would it be better to buy two hundred dollars worth of computer gear or stuff for your house. Where does the value come in? What makes one singer or artist worth two hundred or more at a concert, and another only one hundred? It depends on your point of view.
Sometimes money isn’t involved. Take our ongoing H1N1 flu shot program. Will you get it? Some people say yes and wait for hours in long line ups. Others say to heck with that and have no intention of getting a flu shot even if there were no line ups. Who is right? It depends on your point of view.
I fill out surveys for several organizations from time to time. Last night one had a question, “would you be willing to pay extra for environmentally friendly products?” Some people go all out to purchase items that are friendly to the environment no matter what the cost. Others say no way, not until they manufacture them for the same price or less because it is a profit making venture. Who’s right? It depends on your point of view.
Isn’t it strange how we perceive things as individual human beings. It depends on your point of view.
