Mother’s Day
We take so many things for granted these days. Sometimes we do not think about the good things we have or if we do, we let things pass by lightly. Such is the case with Mother’s Day.
Sure, we get the card, some flowers or a gift, spend a few hours with them and then go about our normal daily routines again.
Very rarely do we think of the importance of ‘Mom’ until they are gone. Then we think of so many things along with the woulda - shoulda – coulda thoughts that seem to arrive at the same time.
There are two main Mom’s that I am thinking about today and they will never be forgotten. My own mother who brought me into this world and worked so hard to do it. And my wife whose main purpose in life was my sons and I. She too worked 24 hour shifts every day at that job, never tiring, or at least not showing it.
They are both gone now, but the fond memories will always remain. I wish they were here, I wish they could come back, but life does not allow that.
The happy memories and thoughts will always float in and out, not just on Mother’s Day, but every day – forever – for as long as I am here.
