Elvis Didn’t Leave The Building

The shows continue. Saturday evening, Dec. 18, 2010 took us to Breakers in Panama City Beach where our group got to enjoy one of the best Elvis shows ever. After an evening meal, let the show begin. Two solid hours of Elvis tunes that was hard to believe it wasn’t the real Elvis. It was the Todd Allen Show, who is an Elvis impersonator.

Saying it was a terrific show is an understatement. The energy, charisma and personal interaction Elvis, ‘er Todd and all the band members put into the show makes it second to none. Most people don't know or don't consider what it takes in preparation to produced a show like this. I do, and they made it look so easy. You can tell they have studied Elvis, for the music, the moves and the direct interaction with the crowd was exactly like it used to be.

Something you don’t see often, all the band members including Todd walked throughout the audience during a fifteen minute intermission and talked to everyone, taking a genuine interest in where they were from and how they were enjoying the show. There was a good amount of humour, as well as seriousness while he sang a gospel tune and ended the show with a tribute to the Armed Forces, including American, Canadian and others who have and continue to, contributed to our freedom.

At the end of the show he was at the door thanking everyone for coming. Such personal interaction is rare indeed, and everyone went away with a sense they had seen Elvis once again.

He also does shows of Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones and others. And with a couple of teasers during this show, you know he is just as capable of switching roles. We will definitely be going to another of his shows before returning to Canada.

You can see by their website that they travel extensively, and if past experience means anything he and all the band are millionaires in talent.
