Lets Race NASCAR
I've been a NASCAR race fan for a lot of years. Getting to see a race at Daytona a couple years ago was like a kids first trip to Disneyland.
I have my favourite drivers and even listen to NASCAR satellite radio a lot of the time to learn even more.
Losing Interest
Suddenly I am losing interest. I understand rule changes and things that make racing safer.
Race to save Fuel
The part I don't get is these races that slow down near the end. The race to save fuel. Shutting engines off, turning them back on. Checking the computer stats. Guess timing pit stops in hopes the fuel quantity is exactly what is needed.
This is not racing.
I want to see them going full out as fast as they can, especially near the end. Side by side, calculating how they are going to get that final pass to the front as they complete the final laps.
Not this pussy footing, fuel saving, calculating finish that often can't even complete a victory burn-out.
DW used to say "Lets Go Racing Boys," (and girls,) - I'm all for it.
