Savannah Is Different

On our way home from Florida this month we took a side trip to visit the city of Savannah in Georgia. It is a city with a difference in so many ways.

The Azaleas were in full bloom everywhere, and a ride with Old Savannah tours took us throughout the many squares or parks that the city is famous for. Each square has a historical significance that was fascinating and educational.

That was followed by a few hours on Savannah’s river walk or River Street which is its true name. The blend of true cobble stone streets, with a mix of the old and the new along the river front with its many shops and places of business was truly amazing.

When editing the many videos and slides that we took that day, I ran across one that I can’t classify as new or historical.

Was this traffic light in a tree left over from the cowboy days and used to tell them ‘hosses’ when to go or when to stay?

Or is it one of them new fangled contraptions placed there so the normal traffic control devices don’t ruin the historical scene?

Halifax NS has a traffic light in a grave yard, so what’s wrong with one in a tree?
