Comparing Florida to Nova Scotia in Winter
We love wintering in Florida during the winter months. Some days its an education, some days its plain humour with a ‘u’. Here’s a small sample.
Floridians Say: The snowbirds drive so slow it must have taken them a month to get here.
Snowbirds Say: Take a look at the vehicles in accidents, they all have Florida plates.
Floridians Say: Hide your salt shakers, the snowbirds are here, the tips will be low.
Snowbirds Say: Read the Squall Live, we’re in it.
Floridians at 40 deg. F. : Mittens, heavy coat, toque, and big boots - on the dog.
Snowbirds at 40 deg. F. : no hat, t-shirt, wearing shorts on the beach, toe checking the Gulf water temperature.
Floridians Say: I never use turn signals - its nobody's business where I am going.
Snowbirds Say: The parking spaces face the wrong way – you’re supposed to back in for safety.
Floridian Weather person: Tonight we will have a hard freeze with possibly some grass snow.
Snowbirds Weather person: Snow, wind, ice pellets, snow, blowing snow with ice pellets.
Floridians Say: We have bicycle lanes that are too narrow, end suddenly and don’t go anywhere.
Snowbirds Say: We have bicycle lanes that are too narrow, end suddenly and don’t go anywhere.
All in fun, wouldn’t miss it for the world.
