Strikers You Do Not Have My Support
There is another strike going on in our area. (Do they ever end?) The last couple of days I was forced to sit in traffic for over 15 minutes on a couple occasions. No the strikers had nothing to do with me, they were blocking intersections or entrances to business establishments by walking continuously back and forth through the crosswalks. That caused left turning traffic to come to a halt and through traffic could not proceed.
In this age of high fuel prices and enviromnental concerns, this is not what I would call a good practise.
Interesting to note that a large group just finished a strike that lasted for months. At no time did they inconvenience the public to any great extent. Good show for them. But the present group out there that is trying to draw attention to their so called bad agreement., guess what?
I will throw my support to the opposite side. I hope you don't get what you want. I hope you do get a lousy agreement. Maybe that will teach you to think about others and not be so self centred and cause expensive disruptions to others. It is not your employer's attention you are getting it is the person sitting in traffic that missed a doctor's appointment because you wouldn't let through traffic proceed. Think about it - I hope it is you someday......
