Today I went to a home show with the intention of looking at replacement windows and kitchen cupboards for our home. First of all there were no cupboard displays of any significance. There were lots of window displays. But when you look closely, they all came from only a couple of manufacturers or so.
Now I am not sure if hot tubs and spas are the in thing these days or not, but there certainly was an over abundance of them. Dozens of water jets, under water lights that change colours, boy what a party. Get out under the right colour of light and you have the perfect tan.
No I am a bit of a gadgeteer. I love push buttons, leds and digital read outs. Things that caught my wanna be list included a power awning over our deck. Remote controlled of course.
Fancy new outside LED security lights that fit in the soffit or wherever you like. And get this, they are 12 volt so they can be battery powered if the power goes off. Just imagine the only house lit up if hurricane Juan ever returns.
Then there was the easy chair with a multi-coloured remote control that would put any TV shop remote to shame. Just imagine getting chucked around by that baby.
One thing I always wanted to add to my place is a sun room. Enjoy the outdoors "in" all year around. Remote controlled sky lights, shutters, and plasma TV systems all in one airy room.
I figure for some where in the price range of sixty to eighty thousand I could have my place up to par for retirement. Oh wait a minute, I forgot to add the price of the new windows and the cupboards....
