Real Life
Blog topics were a little slow coming last week, plus I was busy with a number of other things.
Telemarketer Update: No telemarket calls at all last week. I wonder why. Short challenge that was, so far anyway.
Then the Real Life Topic: Several news reports last week told of small children, in the four and five year old age bracket being dropped off at the wrong location by the bus driver. This was in New Brunswick, but it could happen anywhere.
My first thought was why is this responsibility put on the driver? What about the parents. Seems to me the parents figure today that someone else should always be responsible for the children they brought into this world.
The parents trudge off to work and abandon the kids to someone else's responsibility and care. Then complain to the media when things go wrong. In fact, I heard a lady who had been off on maternity leave say one day: "I can't wait to get back to work. Looking after those kids all day is horrible! I can't wait to get back to my office." I for one would not ever leave a five year old or younger to be on their own, especially traveling
I know many will disagree, but I think the problem is with each parent, not the school board or the bus driver. Stick around, look after your children. Wake up and smell the roses is an old saying that still holds true today. And when you do that, take your kids with you. It might be enjoyable for a change.
