Friends

It has been said that there is nothing like good friends to help get through life in an enjoyable fashion. Even though I tend to keep to the immediate family and a few chosen close friends most of the time, I can agree with that.

But something happened about a week ago that made me consider the word friends. I wonder how many different kinds of friends there are.

There are plenty of web sites that tell us what kinds of friends there are, and give a strong definition of each. Just type in the word friends plus (+) any other word in Google for a list that will keep you busy for hours.

There are friends who are friends because they want something. It may not be obvious at first, but the goal will be known soon enough.

There are friends who are always at your side because they are looking for ‘brownie points’, or at least they think they will get some – some how.

There are “fair weather’ friends, those that are there when all is good so long all is good.

There are friends that are true friends, always there for good or bad, under any circumstances all the time, forever and ever.

Then there is another type of friend that I hadn’t run across much before up until this week. A friend that always stops to say hello, always has a few minutes to share ideas and thoughts…Except!...when there are ‘big wheels’ present (okay VIPs). I ran across one that I hadn’t seen in awhile until the first of this week. But there were some upper class political types present, some other higher ups in the business world and so on. Even though I practically touched shoulders with this individual the person didn’t even have two seconds for anyone else (not only me), but had lots of time for the higher ups.

Makes me laugh and I am glad it happened. After all I got a blog out of it (
