Print This Big
This was brought to my attention by the better half. It seems these days print is getting smaller and smaller. In fact my mother mentioned this also.
Whether it be print media, online, labels or other media, publishers see fit to use different fonts and smaller fonts at that. That is fine, for they can do as they please, it is their way of doing things if they own the business or are the controlling figure. It is up to them whether they want readers or not.
However, what I do not see as fair is publishers and book clubs who now publish large print editions at a premium cost. Is this not taking an unfair advantage of seniors and visually impaired people, since this is the group that gets to this category first.
Those of us who read online can make the print size nearly any size we want with just a couple clicks. Those who rely on newspapers, books and other print media can not do this.
Sure, it costs more money to print an extra edition in the larger size font. But why not just print the thing in a readable format for everyone in the first place?
