After Christmas Rush
Today was a busy day. I took down the Christmas decorations. I said at the time they went up that the whole idea was crazy because you only have to take them down again in a couple weeks. That couple weeks flew by rather fast.
So I am beginning the task at hand. The first thing I notice is that all the plugs that were so difficult to get together so the prongs wouldn't show and produce a shock hazard are now acting the opposite way - you can't get them apart.
The string of Christmas lights that wouldn't stay at the top of the window no matter how much tape, tacks and staples you used, now refuse to come down.
The Christmas angels won't fit back in the box. Do you know how awful it looks to see an angel in the box with her plug hanging out?
In fact, none of the things will fit back in the boxes. And the boxes won't fit back in the closet where they just came from. What's with that?
And how come there are pine needles all over the floor. It's an artificial tree for goodness sake.
And what do you do with all the half used batteries? You did take them out of the thing-a-ma-jigs didn't you?
And how come music is coming from the box? Is that thing battery or wind up? It was a busy day.
Looks like tomorrow will be too. There is still one ornament on the coffee table in plain sight. It's friends will come around tonight after I go to bed.
