Maybe Not The Worst Christmas

"Christmas is over and maybe I can't say it was the worst one ever. It was difficult sometimes, as thoughts wandered to Christmas's past, yet there was a fulfillment in what went on around me.

I got to experience again what an exhilarating feeling it is to have a wonderful loving, caring family. That goes on every day, not just Christmas, but one often overlooks or takes it for granted.

I got to experience two turkey dinners, one at dinner time and one at supper time. That has not happened before, and with my one quart stomach it is probably a good thing.

I think it was great once again to see some of Rose in each of my sons. It was especially enlightening to see some of those traits in the grand children as well.

Those are the things you take for granted. Her humour, special looks, unique expressions, one of a kind actions, and much more were all there. Maybe no one else noticed, but I did.

And twice while these things were going on I looked over at an electronic picture frame we have that runs Rose's pictures continually. Each time there was a picture of her looking towards us with a big smile."
