Connect Two Routers - Remote Assistance
I've had a couple of projects on the go this week.
The first, I modified my home LAN system by connecting a second router. Why a second router? Well the main reason is it gives you additional connections. I prefer the wired system for its speed and security and two routers give me that. There are other advantages such as being able to move your wireless transmission to a higher level for stronger signal strength. Two routers require special configuration before connecting to each other. If you have interest in connecting and using a second router in your home LAN system you can refer to the easy steps here on my web site.
The second project was helping a couple of friends with their computer woes by connecting to them over the internet using the remote assistance capability built into Windows XP and Vista. This is pretty easy to do, but again certain configuration settings must be accomplished before connection is attempted. Once they are done you connect to your friend's computer and operate it just as if you are sitting in front of their keyboard and monitor. Your screen is their screen, and you are able to show them how to do things, and you can watch them follow your instructions to see if they learned a technique correctly. If this interests you, check here on my website to see how to set it up.
An added benefit if you have a headset is you can talk to each other voice on Messenger or Skype and have verbal instructions as well as visually showing what you need to do.
These instructions and more are on nscave.com.
