Here's The Tax
Some of the powers to be often like us to believe that from time to time they are lowering taxes and giving us a better bang for less bucks. Well friends, take a look around, for taxes are going up right before your eyes.
In Nova Scotia when February arrives we are going to have to take our unused computer, TVs and other electronic equipment such as printers, to a special depot so it can be recycled. Now that is a good thing, for I have watched various TV shows that show piles of hazardous electronic circuit boards in other parts of the world, and due to the high number of such items they do need to be disposed of properly.
Here's the tax. You are going to be paying from a couple of bucks to a lot of bucks to pay for this whenever you buy an new TV, computer or other electronic device. This is going to be added to the retail price of said products.
A few years back, they said they were going to recycle all the old tires. That is a lot of tires when you consider all the vehicles on the road today, and in some areas tires are still piled high. Here's the tax. You now pay dollars every time you purchase and install new tires to pay for the disposal of the old ones.
Recycling is a good thing. This family was actually doing the recycling thing long before it was mandatory. What gets me is every time a new idea comes up that makes less garbage for the landfills, it is presented like it is free and easy with no problems what so ever.
Well pay attention, because each and every time a new idea for recycling our old stuff to new comes around, they tell you everything except for the statement: "Here's the tax".
Update: If you don't think this is a tax, take a breath, everyone will be paying the additional price on new products, not just those throwing away a TV or computer.
