Violent Nursery Rhymes and Cartoons
It wasn't too many years ago when the "politically correct" decided to clean up our cartoons and remove all the violence from them. The Roadrunner and his buddy have never been the same since.
Now it appears children's nursery rhymes are too violent for little ears. Mother Goose you should know better. And some of them are being classified as offensive too?
Why are we so afraid of offending someone, and why do we jump to change everything to please someone on a whim? Something is wrong here, and it is not the kids or the violence in cartoons and rhymes.
I am of a vintage where these cartoons and rhymes were pretty prominent and passed on from generation to generation. My little ears(I know they're not little now) when I first heard them thought they were little stories, and sometimes even humorous.
Let me say one more thing, the main point of this blog. In my younger years, and for many generations that followed you didn't have the violence on the streets, in the homes, at the schools, and across the country that you have today.
All the do-gooders need to take a look at the real problems and find a fix. Lay off the cartoons, nursery rhymes and TV programs - they are the least of your worries.
