Computer: Can't Do Without It

A couple nights ago I was sitting in my living room chatting on Messenger with a friend who was out in the middle of the Atlantic on a ship heading for Newfoundland. Of course the topic came around to computers and we mentioned how times had changed that allowed us to do that.

You can get the internet almost anywhere, if you have the equipment - and the money. These days it would be hard to do without our electronics.

headbangIsn't if funny how we immediately go into a panic if our computer goes down and won't boot. It can't wait until tomorrow, panic! panic! We have to fix it now and get those icons back. We will work into the wee hours, making mistake after mistake, just to get back that any key wonder.

I have more than one computer, and I am like that if any one of them goes down. What makes us like that? Call it an addiction if you like, but computers have become almost a body part.

We use them for communication, news, seeing what our friends are doing, banking, buying, complaining, entertainment, storing our important data, hundreds of normal every day uses.

You couldn't care less about a computer if you have never had one, and often are not interested in even getting near one. But once you have a computer it doesn't take long before you can't do without it, not even for a short time.

You say you are not like that? I bet you are. Take another look. Is that a blue screen on your computer? Oh you have Vista, it's black.
