Stick With One Subject

I ran my own disc jockey business in the past for quite a number of successful years. When I first started in the business, I was told by more experienced types that I had to learn to play the music to suit different types of people. That I would have to play a set for the younger folks, a set for the more mature and so on. I was never to play a country tune back to back with a rock n' roll song for example.

Guess what I did. I would mix country tunes with rock, pop, and old time waltz numbers back to back, in sets, any way that hit me at the time. I became known for that, and that is what made my business so popular, because people gradually knew there was something for everybody.

discofloor The best part of it all, I had younger folks dancing with the seniors to the old time music, and I had seniors attempting to dance to the new beats as they came out. The reason - everyone knew if they didn't like the particular tune that was playing, chances are they would enjoy the next one. They knew they didn't have to wait until three or four songs away, that there would be a change with the very next offering. The dance floor at every gig was always completely filled.

I mention that here, because a couple comments indicated, "Why don't you stick with one theme? Make it a humour blog, or a computer blog, or something, with some sort of standard to it."

That's not to be. For as you can see the subjects will be varied. There will be lots of computer and electronic stuff, but some dry (sic)humour as well, and anything else I can think of. I want you and I to learn stuff, discover new things, and above all have a little fun through a laugh or two.

The hit count on the blog is starting to look like I am on the right track.
