Water House Plants
I also inherited some house plants. My wife liked house plants so much that I vowed to keep them going as long as I can. One of the hardest things to do is water them in their various size pots.
I knew enough about them to realize that for most of them you can't get water on the leaves or they will rot and die. So I struggled for a year holding the leaves out of the way, and pouring water into their container with a water glass and other like methods. Then I would spend another five minutes wiping up the dribbles which seemed unavoidable. Sometimes I even moved them directly to the sink.
Then one day as the dish soap container ran out of soap, the idea light came on. Peel off the label, label it with a permanent marker "Plant Water" and rinse many times to be sure to get all the soap out of it.
Fill it up and you have the best plant watering tool for house plants you could ever think of. It squirts out ample water with a slight squeeze, without getting near the leaves, and not a drip on anything anywhere in sight.
Not only that, when finished, you slide the little top closed and there is not danger of spilling water on anything and it is there for next time.
Sorry recycle guy, you are short one recyclable jug.
