HotDogs

Had a discussion with the grandchildren today. The subject was Hotdogs! That's right, those long fully cooked tubular sausage like things we call food. They usually come in a rectangular plastic package straight from the cooler at your local grocery store.

My question, is if they are in the fridge in their plastic package, are they really hotdogs? Or are they cold dogs? Seems to me hotdogs should be hot, but apparently this isn't necessarily so.

Let's suppose then that we have removed the tubular wonders from their plastic package and have roasted them on the bbq or frazzled them in the microwave, then placed them in the funny buns. if you leave it on the plate for half an hour, is it still a hotdog, or did it become a cold dog? Do you see where this is going?

Things become more involved, because those mentioned buns come in packages of eight, whereas the hot cold dogs come in packages of twelve. What do you do? Buy two packages of buns and throw four buns away? Or do you buy one package of buns and throw four cold hot dogs away?

The grand kids and I have wonderful conversations.
