Things You Can Learn From A Power Failure
We had a power failure this morning. Things get quiet and you run out of normal things to do. But it is educational, you can learn a lot.
- Special K "snaps, crackles and pops" louder than Rice Krispies.
- Shaving in the dark provides automatic uneven sideburns.
- Reading the sales flyers in the most important small room in the house is no longer possible.
- All local radio stations are not local, but play continuous crap from away.
- Your normal every day environment is filled with noise pollution because now you can hear the cat purr.
- Those battery operated power converters that you bought on sale really do work - if you keep them charged!
- If you only drink one coffee a day, now you want two.
- Whiskers that you missed in the dark make your chin itch.
- We have become robots. Why else do you flip the switch when you walk into a dark room when the power is off.
- You think about all those rechargeable things you have that need to be recharged.
- Your internet craving becomes withdrawal after thirty minutes.
- You think of how many clocks you have that you have to reset.
Such is life now days since we depend on electrical power nearly every minute of our daily lives. I can't think of anything that doesn't involve electrical power in one way or another.
Well okay, maybe one thing, but this is a family rated publication.
