Click My Clicker That's Tiresome
One of my favourite newsletters is starting to annoy me. Actually it is a series of newsletters because they produce more than one. Thing is, TR has probably some of the best information out there on a variety of topics from a huge gathering of great writers.
But certain aspects are getting ridiculous.
Here's the way it goes: You see an article that you think you might be interested in. It has a title which is also the link, and a short description. So you click on the title (link).
Another page opens up with a box that says "View this now."
Another page opens up and says: "Enter email address," and " Password." You have to be a member, but that is okay, I don't have a problem with that.
Then you wait for it to load. If it is a pdf file you either download it, or your pdf reader opens, whichever way you have your computer set. If its a video, you wait for that to start.
Why all this click, click, click? The only thing I can think of is it allows them to show several pages of ads that they hope you will read or click on.
I won't even mention that several of the series of newsletters contain the same articles mixed in with a few new additions. Oops I already did. That's a lot of clicking just to find out whether you want to read an article or not, because the mini-descriptions usually just gives you enough that you have to click to be sure. Click here for nothing.
