A Dollar Isn't A Dollar
I went to my favourite 'dollar' store today. Maybe the economy has ended our 'dollar' store for good.
First I go to the card section where all the cards used to be a dollar for us economical types. Now there is a sign: Wrapped cards $1.00. Unwrapped $2.00. I can't figure it out either. The plastic wrap costs money, but it is on the cheapest cards.
Throughout the store there are little pieces of tape writer material on the shelf edges that say $2.00. Even a high number of $3.00 labels adorn the shelf edges or are near the products themselves.
How about the ones that say two for $2.00. Does that mean you can buy one for $1.00? Or do you have to take two? Two for $3.00 was easy to understand. I didn't see any three for $3.00.
Then there was a big sign that said "No Returns." Does that mean I can't come back again?
As far as I can tell only one thing stayed the same, well almost the same except you get less. It is rare you can walk out of the store with less than a $10.00 purchase - or more.
A Dollar Isn't A Dollar anymore...
