How’s Your Housework Going? – Lets Wash Some Mats
Another one of those sometime projects, every once in awhile you have to wash those mats, you know the ones, in the bathroom and by the door.
Even us males can do that – if we have to. Not a big deal, gather them up, put them in the washer with a little soap and let them do their thing. So I do that.
Fifteen minutes later I go to the washer, flip open the cover and … whatsssss that? A pile of slimy, sludgy molecules in the bottom of the washer, on the top of the mats, under them and in them. The rubbery mass is larger than the mats I put in there.
So I remove the mats. Now I am covered in rubber debris. That stuff sticks to anything (except mats). How do I get that skuzzy stuff out of the washer. You can’t wipe it, you can’t pick it up. It’s on everything and under everything. Now I know why they call that thing the agitator. You can’t get it out or take it off, and you can’t get the stuff out from under it.
What the heck happened? Mostly males in this household, did we pee on them too much? Nope it was the kitchen one that blew up. Maybe it was the new kind of soap with 10X the cleaning power – cleaned the rubber right off ‘er. Maybe they were washed too often – I washed them a couple years ago – I think.
Heck with it. Being green doesn’t mean washing green mats. I am tossing them towards the landfill. And if they have disposable ones, I am getting those. Never again will they be going into the washing machine.
Pressure washer maybe?
