Snowbirds Go South Don’t They?
For the last few days I have been mentioning for the first time, I am spending the winter down south as they say. The common term for Canadians that migrate south for the winter like the birds, is “Snowbirds”.
Well the person that is left behind to keep everything going in the cold pointed out that some mail had arrived, mostly junk mail – except for a Snowbird magazine. Huh?
Wouldn’t you think an outfit that produces and promotes Snowbirds going south would realize that winter has arrived and that the snowbirds have already gone south – with the birds? What’s with a snowbird magazine arriving at home this time of year.
They don’t know my southern address you say. That’s true. But I am not going to see that magazine until spring at which time my interest in going south will already have been fulfilled.
In fact I will have already migrated back, north - with the birds. Is there a magazine for that? North birds… Flock back… Bungee bird…
