This Blog Is Only Intended For Those It Is Addressed To
I keep getting emails with the following attached – at the bottom!
“This e-mail communication (including any or all attachments) is intended only for the use of the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. If you are not the intended recipient of this e-mail, any use, review, retransmission, distribution, dissemination, copying, printing, or other use of, or taking of any action in reliance upon this e-mail, is strictly prohibited. If you have received this e-mail in error, please contact the sender and delete the original and any copy of this e-mail and any printout thereof, immediately. Your co-operation is appreciated.”
Lets analyse this for a moment.
1) This e-mail communication (including any or all attachments) is intended only for the use of the person or entity to which it is addressed – Well dingbat sender, it was addressed to me. It ended up in my Inbox. Hardly anybody else’s email ends up there, so I would say it is mine.
2) If you are not the intended recipient of this e-mail, any use, review, retransmission, distribution, dissemination, copying, printing, or other use of, or taking of any action in reliance upon this e-mail, is strictly prohibited. – See #1 above. Once again loco sender, you sent it to me. It says it is from you. It’s mine!
3) taking of any action in reliance upon this e-mail, is strictly prohibited. I’ve already read it, you sent it, so your advisory is a little late.
4) delete the original and any copy of this e-mail and any printout thereof, immediately. – You just told me in #3 above that taking any action is strictly prohibited, sorry I can’t delete it. I may post the entire email on my blog.
You have the original, can you send me your computer prepaid so I can comply with that request?
I promise I won’t send it back so you won’t be able to send me anymore emails with this stupid paragraph included on the bottom.
