Defuniak Springs Revisited 2010

Last year we visited Defuniak Springs which is about 55 miles north west of Panama City Beach. Defuniak Springs is a medium sized town with typical shopping plazas, neat little specialty shops and lights, lots of Christmas lights. The display which attracts hundreds of people is arranged around a lake in the centre of town. It is called “Christmas Reflections”  which are easily seen as one drives around the park roadway along the edge of the lake display.

We were told there over 5 million lights in the display this year. Every Christmas character imaginable is represented, and many of the displays are so animated it makes you wonder, “How do they do that?”

Cars slowly cruise bumper to bumper around the roadway next to the display, which is more than a mile long. Or if you wish, there is a boardwalk next to the lake which also goes all the way around giving you another view of the display.

As one of the signs at the display said, “We choose to say Merry Christmas.”

Merry Christmas to everyone from NSCAVE.
