Shoji Tabuchi Show

Shoji

Had the pleasure of attending the Shoji Tabuchi Show last evening at the Marina Civic Center in Panama City, Florida.

If you haven’t heard of Shoji, he is a country music fiddler/comedian that puts on a show that holds your interest from beginning to end for its full two hours.

He hails from Branson, Missouri where he has his own theatre and is well known and liked by those who have attended his productions there. I have not been able to get to Branson, yet, and fortunately he brought his show to Panama City.

If any show is worth the money, or exceeds the value of the ticket price, this one was it. His band, his daughter Christina, who also was part of the show, and all supporting performers were excellent throughout. The packed house enjoyed his many selections, and had lots of laughs.

His music included old music from way back, to show tunes and modern country. A short sampling of his Christmas show, and yes even a medley of polka tunes were all part of the show. Did I mention there was a sprinkling of 50’s tunes in there too?

I lost count of how many sparkling jackets he had, and the color changing dresses the dancing girls had on were stunning.

The comedy that was thrown in between some of the songs emphasising his Japanese accent and many times becoming part of the tunes kept everyone in happy high spirits all evening.

The Shoji Tabuchi show was one of the best I have seen here in snowbird land so far, and you can bet if I get to Branson, I will be seeing it again.
