No Call Back
Not long ago I wrote about the push 1, push 2 call routine when you try to get hold of a business or company. That's bad enough.
There's one worse as far as I am concerned. Make that two.
First: is when you finally get through to the voice message system and you do leave your name, number and the reason you are calling.
They say they will call you back as soon as possible.
But there is no call back - ever.
I suppose as soon as possible is open ended. It could be a couple years.
Second: is when you do get through and someone answers the phone, yes a real person. They tell you the person you are looking for, or the one that has the answer to your inquiry is not there.
They kindly take you name, information, and you already have told them why you are calling. You even offer your cell number so the call can easily be returned.
The nice person you are talking to promises to ensure the person you need will get your message and call you back.
But there is no call back - ever.
Could it be if they get enough business they don't care?
A few responses from the previous post on this topic were from people that did have voicemail as part of their routine.
If any of this rings a bell, think what it would be like if that bell never rings.
