Being from the “old school” I am confused about the new automatic doors that are so common in business establishments these days.

I fully believe that gentlemen should always open the door for the ladies as they enter.

I know, some of you say times have changed and it doesn’t matter anymore.

But for those of us that still hold those traditions at heart, there is a small problem.

The automatic door opens by itself as you pass through the unseen electronic beam.

So, the question is, do you say, “I’ll get the door for you,” and barge in front of her to activate the door?

Or do you just ignore the whole situation and do the puppy walk behind and let her activate the door herself?

Times are changing – such difficult problems.
