Is A Rechargeable Drill The Most Useless Tool?
I've got more than a couple rechargeable drills, good 18 volt ones, large and small.
My friend has rechargeable drills too. They are also good ones, not the cheapie brand.
I have never drilled a hole with mine yet. Once I did manage to "power screw," no make that "power drive," a screw into the wall.
They might be great for contractors that use them constantly, with a couple of batteries on the go.
Not for me.
The Hole Routine
If I need to drill a hole, I get the rechargeable out of its case, find the correct size drill, install it into the chuck, pull the trigger, and get 1/8 of a rotation.
Battery's dead.
So its, extension cord, 3/4 in. power drill, change drill from chuck to chuck, find a plug that's six inches too short away, find a longer extension, exchange, drill the hole.
The Whole Routine
Put the rechargeable drill pack on the charger. Put portable rechargeable drill in its plastic case.
Wind up the extension cord, put the 3/4 power drill away neatly after tucking in its cord four times, put the drill bit away and we are done.
You are not supposed to leave them on charge constantly and not use them because it can eventually shorten the battery's life.
And if you don't - it's dead anyway.
Yes my rechargeable drill is a most useless tool.
