Great Car

drive3I'm a NASCAR fan, have been for a long time.

Due to mechanical difficulties cars sometimes fail and don't complete the race.

Often it is engine failure, but can be other component breakdown.

Most likely the media will interview the driver within minutes.

This is where I get confused.

The driver is always sorry to be out of the race and will lose. That's understandable.

I get confused when the driver continues and says: "We had a great car today, it was fast, handled perfectly, and certainly was capable of a top 5 finish, maybe even winning."

Huh? Great car? The dang thing broke down. It isn't capable of anything. It's in the friggin' garage.

Thank the crew for working hard cause they always do. But - Great car? OK if you say so. Maybe it will make the sponsors think so.

Me? I don't think so - it broke!
