So we are going to have security cameras around the downtown trouble spot areas in hopes that will eliminate the crime. If the characters get involved in an altercation with someone I don't think that will stop them from doing anything.

I can see someone going to do some guy in at the critical moment and say, "Where is that danged camera anyway? One over there, one up there, but it is pointed the other way. Okay the coast is clear!" And wham he lets the guy have it.

It might help identify a subject after the fact. That's providing they are facing the right way, the weather is clear, they stay put long enough for a clear picture, don't have their head and eyes covered, stay in the cameras cone of vision, and wear some unique identifying clothing such as a target vest.

One thing for sure. Whoever gets to monitor the bank of cameras will probably never be a fan of reality TV. "Whatch goin' do when ..."
