Podcast World
Wink: Good judgement comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.
There are so many technology things on the go these days that we all hear about so think we know about, and often pass off lightly.
Podcasts was such an area for me. You see the little download links here and there, maybe click on one or two and hear some audio, so what? You run across the occasional site that deals with all podcast topics, but again you don't absorb much of it. At least that is what happened to me.
About four days ago I began looking at podcasts a little closer. Like a lot of people I related them to the iPod and didn't pay much attention.
After I looked around a bit I found what a wide variety of material there is in various podcast formats. Yes, like everything there is more than one format. But I found the mp3 format to be more to my liking due to the fact I had an unused mp3 player laying around that uses usb sticks.
No problem finding things to transfer to the mp3 player. You can get news clips, or entire news programs. There are all kinds of computer information programs and shows available. Some shows are an hour long, some are only 5 minutes or so. By using podcast search sites you are sure to find material of your interests.
So what you ask? If you are in places where you have time to kill and are tired of listening to the same old tunes, here is a chance to listen to something different and possibly get educated at the same time. On the bus, sitting in the waiting room, perhaps even walking or jogging. It is another dimension to our world of unlimited possibilities.
I am not sure if it will ever replace the magazine in the bathroom though.
