Paraskevidekatriaphobics - Again!
Paraskevidekatriaphobics, meaning afflicted with a fear of Friday the 13th.
Are you superstitious? Do you consider Friday the 13th unlucky? Or is Friday the 13th a lucky day? What about black cats crossing? Walking under a ladder? Do you 'knock on wood'? Is one crow sorrow?
There are hundreds of signs and superstitions in our lives. Some believe in them, some do not.
What I found since I have met a lot of people throughout my life, is that people who say they are not superstitious - are. They will secretly 'knock on wood', or change course if the black cat appears.
You know the routine, if you pay attention to a superstition and something happens you will say: "See! I told you." If nothing happens, the response is: "Well it doesn't happen all the time."
What about me you ask? I tend to pass superstitions off rather lightly most of the time. As I get older though, some of the things in the 'sign' category get my attention more than they used to.
Is there anything to this? I really don't know, you decide.
