Windows Live Writer User Update
On Monday, January 21st, I mentioned I was trying out Windows Live Writer for blog posting, saying I would get back to you if it turned out to be a keeper.
There is a learning curve on some aspects of it, but overall it works well. For example the first time you post a picture it sends you off to Google's Picassa. After that posting pictures is seamless. It is very easy to have the text wrap around the picture or graphic in various ways when you like.
Inserting emoticons and other items is very easy, and links which I use a lot sometimes are very easy to work with.
You are loading a separate program to use it, but with its many features and available plugins, it is a keeper for a while at least. Formatting, publishing and all those things are super easy and fast.
Using this program is very much like using an ordinary word processor or html wysiwyg editor. I have been using Windows Live Writer to publish Rose Garden since first mentioning it on Jan. 21.
The auto publish for writing your blogs in advance and having them publish themselves on a certain date doesn't work on Blogger.
All in all though it is an easy program to work with. If you publish a blog, you may want to try it out.
