Lost Cell Phone Tip

call_me2 I have heard a couple stories lately of people finding cell phones that someone lost along our walking trails. For the most part they are of no use to anyone else and those I know who found them would like to return them to their rightful owner.

Because of privacy and security concerns a lot of people don't list their home phone number as 'home'. Calling people listed in the phone's directory often sends out the same alarm and those people either don't know or are unwilling to provide any information about ownership of the lost phone.

The solution is really very simple if you take some advance precautions. Most phones have a starting message, or message of some sort that you can program to say what you want when the phone is first powered up. This is usually shown on the first screen or main screen whichever you prefer to call it.

So here is where you can type your email address. It can be one of the web email addresses such as hotmail or gmail or even your main email contact. Then if your phone is lost, it is very simple for someone to get it returned to you if they find it. They simply send you an email to the email address you provided.
