Promote Your Website Among Friends
While we are talking about the web, here is a handy hint about promoting your web site that I don't recall seeing anywhere else. This is about promoting your web site amongst your friends and people you meet.
How many times have you been talking to your friends in person and it comes out, "Oh you have a web site? What's the url?" You tell them the url and you know it will be forgotten a lightening bolt less than instant.
Or as you give your web site address the other person is scrambling to write it down on something, anything, even their hand. "Is that all small letters?" goes the conversation.
The solution is so simple. Get yourself some business cards with your web site information printed on it, and carry a few with you at all times.
You can buy some blanks and print them yourself, because you probably won't need very many. Almost any word processing program will do it. Or you can get you local printing company to do up a few. The cost is minimal.
You will be surprised how handy this is, when you meet your friends, at meetings, social gatherings, just about anywhere you hang out with people you know.
That gets people you know on your site, and more than likely that card will get passed around. It's great to have people from around the world visit your site. It's special when people you know become regulars too.
