I Don't Know How To Type - A New Kind Of Spam
I do know how to type, and very well if I do say so myself. You hear that phrase a lot, "I don't know how to type." True, there are lots of one and two fingered typists, including some professional reporters and other writers. If you look closely you can see them on TV all the time. Nothing wrong with that, they get the job done.
An increasing trend I notice involves a few careless actions by many. It is getting worse day by day, almost to the point of being irritating. These items are very noticeable in email I get, in the comments sections of various web sites, and in forums on the net where we get to make comments on things, or ask questions.
It is almost like a new kind of spam:
- Typing in all capitols. (Which is considered yelling.)
- No capitols at the beginning of sentences.
- Running everything together in one paragraph so you need a magic genie to sort everything out.
- Spelling errors by the dozens. We all make spelling errors from time to time, but several in one sentence? If one can use a mouse, you can easily click on the spell checker.
Again there are more, but you get the idea. There is one more that I will mention separately. Those stupid abbreviations! You don't need them in ordinary email like you do in a text message on your phone.
Please understand I am not talking about folks whose language is not normally English. These errors are easy to understand and no apology is necessary. I am referring to the rest of us who seem to be more careless day by day.
