ThunderBrowse Thunderbird Extension
ThunderBrowse Thunderbird Extension mentioned yesterday is one of the most useful extensions you could ever want for an email program. You can find full information about it by searching extensions in the usual manner or clicking the link above.
Basically it allows you to surf the internet right from Thunderbird email. For example, if you subscribe to a newsletter and it has links to web pages in it, all you have to do is click the link and the page will open in a new tab in the Thunderbird email program. No need to go to an external browser. Very quick and very fast.
Problem is for one of the latest upgrades, the link page opens, but not the images. It is easily fixed, but the average user probably is not aware of that, and if not a power user likely would hesitate to modify the required file.
To fix it, all you have to do is follow these steps:
- Click Tools>Options>Advanced>Config Editor
- Scroll down, or copy & paste the following into the Filter box:
- mailnews.message_display.disable_remote_image
- Double click the entry to toggle it's value to 'false'
Now your images from the web pages will show up as they are supposed to.
Hopefully this will be fixed in later upgrades as ThunderBrowse is an excellent convenience and time saving extension.
