NASCAR Fan but not a TV Network Fan

drive3 I am a NASCAR race fan watching both the live races when they are on TV as well as participating in a simulator version. Both are a lot of fun. But there is a problem.

The current season of broadcasting has had multiple problems on the East Coast for the last series of races. FOX had the first part of the season, and although I hate their multitude of continuous advertisements, in my opinion they did a better job and had better equipment for coverage.

Then came the problems mid-season as the rights were shared. FOX leaves and ABC/TSN come in. First it was a race that was not shown because of a disagreement with TSN2 and some cable companies.

Then one race being broadcast on ABC was suddenly ended mid stream and replaced by another sports program. We did not get to see the end of that race at all.

Today it happened again. With 39 laps to go, coverage on the East Coast was replaced by so called regular programming. I was lucky and could go to TSN2 to watch the remainder. Some people don't have that option. And the full race wasn't on that channel to begin with.

This is unacceptable to be hopping from channel to channel to watch a program that started several hours ago. It is even more unacceptable to not be able to watch the end of a NASCAR race that you spent a couple hours watching.

Here's hoping next season a broadcaster with an interest in their viewers will obtain the contract from start to finish of the entire season. It takes a long time to build up a fan base for this sport. A season like this will soon chase them away.
