Sleeping In A Hurricane
A couple nights ago I drifted off to sleep while listening to the forecast that said more rain and high winds. Just what we need I am thinking, our summer has been mostly rain up to this point.
Peaceful sleep arrives, and visions of sugar plums…ah no, wrong season. Everything is peaceful until it is time for that 4 a.m. trip to the little harbour. I wake up hanging on to the corner of the sheet with both hands trying to stay covered and warm until the dash for the aforementioned journey begins.
They weren’t kidding. We have the high winds. Is it a hurricane? A tornado? Hardly the season for it yet. Thankfully I don’t feel any rain. But I will if I don’t soon get that trip going.
What happened to the roof, and ceiling? The weather is much rougher than I expected. Oh the roof and ceiling are still there. Still there holding up the ceiling fan.
Ceiling fan? Who the heck left that thing in turbo drive anyway. Bedroom fans should be restricted to low speed reverse. I’ll see if I can get a group going.
This scene was to be repeated at 6 a.m. No beings were harmed during the night time making of this journey to the weewee tepee.
