Red Duct Tape

RedDuct_01

Bought a roll of duct tape from one of the dollar store chains the other day. It was a pretty thin roll, but for a dollar, what do I expect? It was shrink wrapped in a typical fashion with a blue tint printed cover.

I needed this to tape some loose ends and seams of a tarp use to cover a hot tub for the winter. For the sake of description, the tarp is blue and the hot tub is brown. So any typical gun tape dark green colour, silver or even blue would be fine.

So I carefully remove the outer shrink wrap with the blue tint printed cover, with a jack knife and fingernails.

Here's what I see: The friggin' duct tape is bright red!

RedDuct_03I know Christmas is coming and red is a decorative colour, but who in heck wants bright red duct tape? Traffic orange or do not cross yellow even, but not bright red.

Maybe if you had a ripped Maple leaf on your flag, red duct tape might be adequate, but not for a brown hot tub.

What the heck would you use bright red duct tape for?

Red Green used to have a website with multiple uses for duct tape listed, maybe he knows.

"Red" Green, hmmm... no think I will pass on that one.

I can think of multiple uses for just about any other colour of duct tape. But bright red? Tell me one use for red duct tape.

Oops, gotta go now, someone just told me a perfect use for red duct tape, and if I don't hit <Publish> real quick this blog will be silent!
