USB & Shift Symbols
USB connectors
Just a reminder.
I still see people fumbling when trying to connect USB devices. Wiggling the plug around, turning it over, then turning it over again. Heck, I even do it myself sometimes, then I catch myself.
Connecting USB devices is really very easy. They have this little symbol on the top of most connectors.
If you are plugging the USB cord into a laptop/notebook, the sqiggly symbol faces up. Connects easily every time.
If you are connecting a male to female USB connection, make sure the symbol is facing up on both and its easy.
Shift key
One more instance where I see confusion is instances where an on-screen keyboard must be used. eReaders and phones would be one example.
The user can't find the shift key to input capitol letters, which can be important for things such as passwords.
Remember the broad up arrow is the symbol for 'Shift'. Often located in strange places on some devices with small screens and keyboards.
It is usually easy to see if you remember what you are looking for.
