No Heavy Medal For Sale
Wink: Answer to yesterdays question and todays question see below.
I have been following the War Medal sale on EBay for the past week or so. I am against such a sale because in my mind medals belong to the individual and the individuals family. No money should ever change hands for it because it was earned, and there isn't enough money to cover the value - ever.
Part of the new internet era is that things like this can get out of hand through instant communications and media publicity.
I don't blame the individual for trying to make money any way they can. To me it is kind of sleezy, but to those that don't hold the same values for such items, it is just another sale of goods.
This medal which is finally going to a rightful home, went from a few dollars to over seven thousand in just a couple of days. I blame this totally on the media. This sale got so much publicity from the newspapers and TV outlets that the price could only be driven higher and higher. The price likely would have stayed much lower if this were not the case.
So you see not only the seller made money, but the media outlets too, by making a big deal out of an item that should have stayed secret except for notifying the group that wanted it.
Thankfully it went to the right place.
Yesterday's Question:
Marie's father has five daughters:
1. Chacha
2. Cheche
3. Chichi
4. Chocho
5. ????
Question: What is the fifth daughter's name?
Answer: Chuchu? Wrong! It's obviously Marie! Read the question.
Today's Question:
You are competing in a race and overtake the runner in second place. In which position are you now?
