Random Acts
Wink: If electricity comes from electrons... does that mean that morality comes from morons?
"We don’t believe they were random acts." Amongst all the shooting that have taken place in our city, that statement always appears in the media. Those incidents are definitely on the increase, and happening in areas everywhere in our twin cities.
I was wondering if that statement makes anyone feel better. If the building next to you was shot full of holes and you were next door, would that make you feel better? If you were on the street behind where the action took place, would that statement make you feel better?
Not random or not, I can't picture those involved being too concerned about where the bullets are going. They are not considering what is behind or beside their intended targets. They are not considerate of what happens should a bullet glance off a solid object.
These acts are a lot more dangerous than authorities would like you to believe. Adding to the danger is you never know where it will happen next. So the fact that it wasn't a random act and an intended target was in the mind of a perpetrator doesn't make it very comforting, especially to those nearby.
Something has to be done, sooner rather than later.
