Remove Battery To Reset Laptop
I ran across this a couple times lately, both in person and in the forums.
"My Laptop/Notebook is dead and won't turn on. No lights, no sound, no anything."
This seems like a time to hit the panic button, except that probably won't work either if your computer isn't on.
Many times when a notebook computer won't boot or power up it just needs to be reset. Whether the malfunction was caused by a drop, a program failure or some other reason, this is always worth a try.
Very simple, all you have to do is disconnect the AC electrical power, and remove the battery from it's compartment. Wait for about 30 seconds to a minute and put the battery back, connect the power cord if you like and hit the power button. Chances are it will spring to life. If it doesn't you have a more serious problem that will require further action.
Not all brands require this procedure to reset, but many do. It is worth a try to be sure, and many people may not be aware of it.
