I’d Like To Know

I can find out most things I need to know on the internet with its abundance of correct and incorrect information. There’s not much you can’t find out with a little refined research.

But there are a few things that are hard to get information on. Here are some of those.

"Ton of Light" – I read this in a newspaper article.  How do you find a "Ton of Light?" How much is a "Ton of Light?” Does a ton of light weigh at ton, how do you weigh it? Can’t blame this one on text messaging.

Container sizes in litres – Why are those large plastic storage containers size always given in liquid measurement? Does anybody put water in them? Or any liquid for that matter? Why are sizes not given in physical dimensions? Who thought up this method anyway? I can’t tell the difference between a 30 gallon container and a 114 litre container. Oh, they are the same, who would have guessed. But how much junk will they hold? My junk doesn’t come in quarts.
Learn Another language CDs - they always speak English. You know, the ads on TV that say you can learn another language in ten days or some other ridiculous time frame. They show people using the CDs, but they are always speaking English. Not once have I heard any of the users speaking the new language they are learning. Wonder why?
Unscented lemon – Noticed this on a package in the grocery store. Unscented lemon? The last time I checked lemons had a distinct smell. This was a soap product, so I was wondering what it smelled like. Then again maybe there is a new farm somewhere growing unscented lemons. Wonder if that would work with javex?

Pancakes from Scratch -  Also on a package at the grocery store. I didn’t know you had to scratch them. Do you have to do that with waffles? Maybe that is why they run all over the counter before exploding in steam. I didn’t scratch them.
