Sidney Crosby Day
I couldn’t let yesterday go by without mentioning Sidney Crosby. Unfortunately I had another commitment and was unable to attend the celebration. I live only a short distance from Cole Harbour Place and when I had to leave at 1:30 in the afternoon nearby streets were filled with parked cars on both sides of the street making them one lane for almost their entire length. This was several blocks away from the actual event area.
It’s a good thing I live there and know the side streets for I would have never got out of there otherwise. But you know what? For the first time ever, none of that traffic congestion bothered me. It was an honour to see a local young person achieve celebrity status and bring all that ‘back home’ to everyone, armed forces, adults and children.
I watched it later on TV and indeed it is a great feeling to live in the same community as our great hockey star Sidney Crosby.
